What is Delta Cyber School?
Delta Cyber School is an online public school open to all Alaskan students ages 5-19. It is free of charge to any Alaskan student not attending another public school. Tuition-based courses are also available for public school students. All coursework is delivered online and taught by Alaskan teachers. Our elementary program requires considerable parental involvement, but all middle school and high school coursework is delivered and graded by our teachers; parents are asked to serve as mentors to encourage their students to work but are not required to do any teaching or grading. Students have immediate access to their teachers through instant web-conferencing and/or phone from 8:30 to 3:45 Monday through Friday. For further information, contact Sherry Smith at ssmith01@dgsd.k12.ak.us. (877) 895-1043 We look forward to working with you!
Delta Cyber School ’s Relationship with the Delta/Greely School District : Delta Cyber School is a member of the Delta/Greely School District and maintains an educational philosophy and program that is consistent with the goals of the Delta/Greely School District. The Academic Policy Committee is the primary governing body of DCS, but most policy must also be approved by the Delta/Greely School Board. The Delta/Greely School Board and administration are committed to the goals of Delta Cyber School as this program offers unique opportunities for students.
The Delta Cyber School enjoys the rights, privileges, and support of the Delta/Greely School District in the same manner as all district programs, schools, students and employees. The Delta/Greely School District maintains the authority to resolve questions regarding the Cyber program.
Additionally, Delta Cyber School has the support and necessary authority to determine and develop a course of study for students that is different from the adopted curriculum for students enrolled in the Delta/Greely School District. Instructional materials, grading procedures, and student attendance policies are determined by the Delta Cyber School Academic Policy Committee.

Perhaps you have heard of the Child Find on the radio or television, or read about it in the newspaper. It is a statewide effort to locate and identify children ages 3-21 who are either in or out of school and in need of a specialized education program.
Alaska's legal regulations along with federal regulations (P.L. 93-381 and P.L. 94-142) guarantee that all school age children have the right to a free public education. There are, however, children not attending for other reasons. Even though you most likely do not have a child in your home who is of school age but not attending school, you may know about a child like this.
Please join and support this campaign to locate unserved children. If you know of such a child, call (907) 895-4657, or send information to:
